Petco Foundation invests $2.5m in SDF

Ojai Valley News | SANTA PAULA, Calif. – Last Thursday, the Petco Foundation announced a $2.5 million “Pathway to Completion” challenge grant, to help the Ojai-based Search Dog Foundation (SDF) build America’s first National Training Center for canine disaster search teams.

Disaster Search Dogs make a live find in Nepal

According to Norwegian media, Geere and Mir, together with their handlers Morten and Kristin, used their noses to find a 24-year old woman in Kathmandu who had been buried deep under rubble (4 floors down) for 5 days. The rest of the Norwegian team together with rescue workers from Israel and France were able to pull out the young woman alive and give her medical care.
