Meet Lobo!

Lobo’s a remarkable working dog candidate ready for his next adventure!

Lobo is a 2-year-old neutered male German shepherd mix, weighing in at 52 pounds. With his high toy drive and excellent hunting skills, Lobo is a dynamic and energetic companion.

Lobo is fully trained in all FEMA Foundation Skills, including direction and control, emergency stop, long wait, off-lead heeling, and agility. His live human search abilities are well-developed, and he has a reliable bark alert. Lobo has mastered a multiple marker system and is proficient in many elements both on and off-leash, responding to whistle, voice, and hand cues.

While Lobo has demonstrated most of the qualities and aptitude required to be a highly effective disaster search dog, he doesn’t appreciate intensive handling from strangers. Therefore, we believe that the unpredictable handling requirements of disaster search might not be in his best interest. Instead, Lobo is available for another SAR career or other detection/sport discipline where his skills can shine. Lobo is a high-octane dog and best suited to an experienced handler who can match his energy and drive.

Lobo comes with full medical clearances, including hip and elbow radiographs, ensuring he is in excellent health and ready for his next mission. If you’re looking for a dedicated and skilled working dog, Lobo might be the perfect fit for your team!
