SDF Search Teams Deploy to Gulf Coast Following Isaias Landfall

After Tropical Storm Isaias made landfall along the Gulf Coast, SDF-trained canine teams Jeremy DeMott & Chirp and Trinity Maurer & Goldie deployed alongside fellow members of Virginia Task Force 2 (VA-TF2) to assist with search and rescue operations.

Isaias hit the northern Gulf Coast with sustained tropical-storm-force winds, high storm surges, and intense moisture bands. As the storm tracks inland, it is pushing vast amounts of rain eastward, bringing severe winds and widespread flash flooding across the region and leaving power outages and structural damage in its wake.

Jeremy, Chirp, Trinity, and Goldie are heading to the Western North Carolina/Eastern Tennessee border to support local first responders. From this strategic staging location, our teams stand ready to assist regional search efforts, navigating rugged terrain and flooded communities to ensure no one is left behind.

We are keeping all affected communities, our deployed handlers, canine partners, and all emergency personnel in our thoughts during this mission.
