Four SDF-trained Search Teams certify in April!

Four SDF-trained Search Teams certify in April!

Congratulations to the Canine Disaster Search Teams who achieved Certification in April!

On April 13 and 14, Canine Disaster Search Teams traveled from all over the country to take their FEMA Certification Evaluation in Seattle, WA. Veteran SDF-trained Search Teams Cynthia Sato & Roxy (California Task Force 1), Mark Schroeder & Noah (Nebraska Task Force 1), and Eli Thomas & Vader (California Task Force 3) all re-certified as deployable teams.

Then, on Saturday, April 27, Brent Koeninger & Moxie (Oklahoma Task Force 1) achieved re-certification in Kansas with the State Urban Search and Rescue Alliance (SUSAR).

Though these four Search Teams have certified before and have stood ready to respond as needed anywhere in the country for the past three years, re-certification is required to ensure that any team deploying to a disaster has maintained their readiness and can do the job.

The CE is no easy task and SDF is so very proud of all of the teams, both SDF and non-SDF-trained, that tested. Congratulations again to all our teams and thank you to everyone who helped support them thus far on their journeys!
